Install a Joomla! template
Joomla is a brilliant open source content management system which can be downloaded for free at the official Joomla website. One of the attractions of Joomla is how easy it is to customize and extend, one way this can be done is a Joomla! template which allows you to easily and quickly change the layout and style of your installation. There are plenty of Joomla! templates available so you're bound to find something you like.
Once you've chosen your style download the .zip package to your PC and you're ready to start installing it.
1. Login
To start point your browser to the Joomla! admin panel (e.g. http://www.yourdomain.com/administrator/) and login. Select the Install/Uninstall link from the Extensions menu item:

Installation is extremely easy, simply select the Browse button from under the Upload Package File heading and select the zip file you downloaded. Click Upload file & Install and that's it - your template has been installed!
3. Make default
You're almost done - all that's left to do is make your new template the default one - that is the one which will be used by guests on their first visit. Select the Template manager link from the Extensions menu:
From the list of installed templates, choose the one which you wish to make default by clicking the corresponding radio button to the left:
Then click the gold star labelled Default in the top right of the page:
Your newly installed template is now set as default and already being shown to visitors - it's as easy as that.
